The Gaijin has Landed!
I am finally back in Japan! As with most long anticipated events, the reality is an out-of-focus anti-climax. The bus ride from Narita Airport to Keio Plaza in Tokyo was a never ending crawl through urban traffic, but once I was checked into the hotel I located a little noodle shop where I was able to acquire a ￥350 ticket for a bowl of mountain-vegetable soba. Alas, the great photo-moocher that I am, I have not yet made any new friends with digital cameras, so photos must follow in a subsequent entry. Thus begins my new life in Japan, spaced out in a five-star hotel.
