Tokyo JET Orientation Day One

Today, as the first day of the JET Programme’s Tokyo orientation, marks my first day as a paid JET Assistant Language Teacher and, consequently, the true beginning of this blog. This particular post is primarily meant to be of help to 2005-2006 JETs preparing for the 2005 orientation, but I hope that it may prove of some interest to other curious readers as well. Over all I would judge the event as a logistical success. There are, by most estimates, 1,200 new JETs currently participating in this year’s Group B orientation, which is roughly the equivalent of an over-strength regiment.
